Monofilament Recovery & Recycling Program

Organizing an Advisory Committee Task Force

It is important that task force members are utilized for their talents and rewarded for their efforts!

One of the most valuable assets of an effective program is a MRRP Task Force. Task Force members not only provide creative thinking and input for the program but also can be your greatest advocates.

A strong Task Force should include members that hold varying interests within your community, such as representatives from environmental and beautification organizations, anglers and fishing interests, environmental educators, wildlife rehabilitators, boaters, business owners, endangered species scientists, teachers, students, civic groups, and retired persons.

The Brevard County Monofilament Recovery and Recycling Program was initiated with the following task force members...

  • Leesa Souto - Brevard County Natural Resources Management Office
  • Erin LeClair & Nancy Mellor - Brevard County Solid Waste Department
  • Elizabeth Melvin - Keep Brevard Beautiful
  • Ann Spellman - Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
  • Chris Combs - Florida Sea Grant
  • Sandra Clinger - Save the Manatee Club
  • Rodney Smith - Coastal Angler Magazine
  • Bob Day - St. John's River Water Managment District
  • Carmen Wieher - Midwest Research Institute - Florida Division
